Florence Gichoya is a communications and campaigns specialist with vast experience in translating projects’ outcomes to messages of impact and relaying them to diverse audiences, carrying out effective campaigns, and advocating and managing communications for projects.
Florence is the Communications and Membership Manager at the Alliance of Civil Society Organizations for Clean Energy Access (ACCESS Coalition). She has built a track record of carrying out effective research, campaigns, advocacy, and communications management for projects at national, regional, and global levels by promoting access to clean, reliable, and efficient energy systems to vulnerable communities.
She previously worked for not-for-profit organizations in Kenya and Zambia, where she pioneered in the setup of the communications department from end to end and designed systems structures, policies, and procedures that streamlined operations.
A key highlight in her career is liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders, members of the public, the media and collaborating with cross-functional teams in gathering and analyzing data in order to help decision-makers, including government, think tanks, and businesses, develop and shape policy. Florence holds a Master of Arts degree in Diplomacy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication.
